Making Diesel Cleaner, Today
It's been a big week for air quality and Purify Fuel.
As if a global airborne coronavirus wasn’t enough, we learned that the impact of ambient air pollution might be twice as bad as suggested by the World Health Organization. German researchers are calling it an "air pollution pandemic.” A March 3, 2020 study in Cardiovascular Research found that 8.8 million excess deaths in 2015 could be attributed to air pollution, which is far greater than any other cause of premature mortality including smoking, infectious disease and violence.
Purify Fuel is helping solve this crisis created in large part by burning diesel. On Tuesday, March 3rd, our CEO, John Carroll, presented in Houston to the North American Maritime Environmental Protection Agency (NAMEPA) Purify Fuel’s solution for making MGO, a 0.1% sulfur marine diesel, an even cleaner, more cost-effective fuel choice in the post-IMO 2020.
On Wednesday, March 4th, our team lead by Jay Fountain, Purify Fuel's Vice President, Rail Group, also supported the American Short Line Railroad Association (ASLRRA) for #RailDay, the industry's annual lobby event on Capitol Hill, joining the Offices of U.S. Senators Diane Feinstein (CA) and John Hoeven (ND) to discuss policies that will transform the industry for a cleaner future.
On a final note, stay tuned for the exciting results of an independent performance test by a third party diesel engine service provider that proves our enduring promise. Purify Fuel’s nanO2 Combustion Catalysts® can help operators save money, increase power, and reduce emissions.
